New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ MNET America) KCON, North America's first and largest Korean pop culture convention, has announced EXO as the first of six groups to perform at this year's event. Tickets for the star-studded convention and concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports
Arena will go on sale Monday, July 15. Tickets will range from $60 to $300 for varying admittance to the six act concert, the convention floor and VIP access areas. More information and access to the ticket vendor can be found at www.kconusa.com.
EXO is a 12 member group produced by S.M. Entertainment that is divided into two subgroups, EXO-K and EXO-M, each singing respectively in Korean and Mandarin. All 12 members will be attending KCON 2013. Since debuting last year, EXO has exploded to become one of the most successful and popular groups in K-pop. Released earlier this year, their first full length album XOXO, topped the Billboard World Album Chart. Their current single, Wolf (EXO-K and EXO-M) has a combined total of more than 10 million views on YouTube and continues to grow. A special greeting from the group can be seen here.
Additional announcements of artists scheduled to attend and perform at KCON 2013 will be made throughout the week on KCON's social media platforms including @kconusa, www.facebook.com/kconusa and the event's homepage.
"EXO is dominating the K-Pop landscape right now and since EXO-M performed at last year's KCON, fans have been clamoring for more EXO at KCON 2013," said Ted Kim, president and CEO of Mnet America. "Both EXO and KCON are growing in popularity, and it is only fitting that we are able to bring all 12 members of the band to
America and give fans what they want."
Highlighting the convention will be the chance for fans to engage directly with their favorite artists as they participate in panels, Q&A sessions, photo opportunities and autograph sessions giving North American fans the access and experience that is unique to KCON. Please note that capacity is limited. More details on admission conditions for artist engagement sessions will be announced in the next few weeks.
In addition to the artist engagement sessions, the convention will be filled with other activities that will allow attendees to immerse themselves into the world of Korean pop culture - music, film, fashion, dance, food and more.
KCON is set to take place on August 24 and 25 at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports
Arena with the August 25 concert to also be the first ever U.S. taping of the #1 K-Pop countdown show, M COUNTDOWN. For more information and updates, please visit www.kconusa.com. The Official KCON 2013 poster and photos from KCON 2012 can be found here and here.
