(Launch) - David Lee Roth kicked off his appropriately-titled David Lee Roth Saves The Day summer tour Friday with a show at the Ameristar Hotel and Casino in Kansas City, Mo., followed by a Saturday gig at The Rock in Maplewood, Minn. Roth has only announced four dates so far, but it could very well turn into a cross-country outing. Roth will be singing many of the songs he helped make famous while fronting Van Halen, as well as his solo hits. While he's had discussions with bassist Billy Sheehan and guitarist Steve Vai about reuniting the band that recorded "Eat 'Em and Smile," Roth's group for these dates includes guitarist Bart Walsh and drummer Ray Luzier, both of whom have toured with him in the past. Saturday's gig had Roth headlining over Firehouse, Great White, Blue Oyster Cult and Jackyl, as well as some local acts. The June 30 date has Roth sharing a bill with Creedence Clearwater Revisited, John Kay and Steppenwolf, Foghat, Survivor and Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, among others.
