New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Final Clearance official website) Lead Singer and Songwriter, Tom Simpson explains, 'The Party Line is our first attempt at political/protest songs, but it's not supposed to fall down on any one side. It's about being open to other ideas, and not blindly sticking to one outlook.' The band are well known for their genre-defying ability to cross boundaries of music. Described as being , indie, new-wave with a touch of folk - Final Clearance adhere to their ethos which, in Tom's words is ' to make everything sound different.'
The five piece band are currently working on an album of genre-switching sounds, with 'The Party Line' being the first single release from the collection. The inclusion of Sarah Scott's violin in the mix shakes up the sound and differentiates Final Clearance from their peers. With four releases under their belt 'Window Cleaners of Amsterdam EP (2008), Teenage Dreamland (2009) No Love Lost (2010) and Ashes EP ( 2012), the band are looking forward to releasing their third album of original material.
Current Final Clearance line-up: Tom Simpson (Lead Singer/Rhythm Guitar/Songwriter); Ellie Preston (Bassist/Keys/Backing Vocals); Lewis Simonds (Lead Guitar); Sarah Scott (Violin/Keys) and Trevor Morley (Drums). From a debut gig in a school canteen in 2007, they have gone on to play live gigs around the UK, including club nights in London (Barfly, The Dublin Castle, Hope & Anchor and The Bowery).
The band have two shows lined up; Friday 26th July at The Watershed in Newport Pagnell (Milton Keynes and Sunday 28th July at The Loveliness Festival in Milton Keynes.
