Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Top40 Charts/ Wifi PR Group) There's nothing final about Final Thought's accomplishments or what this Canadian band hopes to achieve in the near future. The group is currently promoting their latest album "What We Need" and brand new single "Into My Hands". Final Thought is lead by vocalist and guitarist
Dustin Dopsa, with
Brandon Hawthorne on bass and Tom Watson on the drums. Since the group's early days of competing in various battle of the bands competitions, they have been crafting hard hitting rock songs. Final Thought is influenced by U2, Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Barcelona and The Beach Boys.
Blink 182 had a substantial influence on the early life of the band, that Dospa admits didn't leave much room for an original sound. Since then the group has refined their artistry, resulting in a sound they can call their own. Final Thought has been compared to 30 Seconds to Mars, Angels & Airwaves, Fall Out Boy,
Taking Back Sunday and Motion City Soundtrack, with lyrical inspiration coming from heavy topics such as death and divorce.
The trio are quite proud of their latest single "Into My Hands", produced by French Canadian Luc Tellier (Simple Plan, The Mission District, The New Cities). The song is an evolved form of what was previously heard on the full length "What We Need" and rocks as hard as the group's "This Party", while incorporating the hooky flare of "
Tell All Your Friends". The full length album "What We Need" was produced by plenty of talent including Rob Freeman (Gym Class Heroes, Hit The Lights), John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance,
Brand New, Bayside) as well as Tellier.
Final Thought has been experiencing increased exposure in their hometown of Toronto, but haven't lost sight of their goals. When they were selected for the nationally broadcast Canadian TV show "Cover Me Canada" they declined the invitation. They felt their time would be better spent concentrating on the promotion of "What We Need". Final Thought has played in front of growing crowds, sharing the bill with bands such as Bedouin Soundclash, Cute is What We Aim For, Silverstein and Down With Webster. The group also independently produced a documentary entitled "Like Angels We Sing", which was shot in three different recording studios across North America. The film takes you behind the scenes to meet the band, and provides an inside view of the creative process behind the music.
The band recently headlined the Escape Movement Beach Party in North Bay, Ontario on June 22.
