All invited guests have appeared in the past at an earlier P.B.G.'s Productions, "Dreams" Are Nothing More Than Plans Awaiting Action event, have graced the cover or the pages of SGIB Magazine-Long Island's First Bilingual Urban Music Magazine: The magazine that goes both ways…we bring the world into our community and our community into the world. Some have even been in the crosshair of the lenses of free-lance publicity photographer, Gerard, who is CEO of P.B.G.'s Productions, as well as the Editor-in-Chief of SGIB Magazine.
Special Performing Guests will include Alyson Williams, introducing her new CD entitled 'It's About Time', Wil Hart's Delphonics, (we're talking the originals, people). Raya, who is the background dancer for 'The Godfather of Soul', Mr. James Brown, will be making her first North American appearance with her hot, new Latin Hip-Hop group, 2 ð. R., Reese, the hot urban rocker and an open mike 'battle' like you've never seen before, of the cover artists from past issues of SGIB Magazine! SGIB's own 'Open Mike' columnist, Chris Curry, will host it. Past cover artists from Strong Island are: Gab from Hempstead, Vada from Huntington, Gloria 'Glory' Velez from Islip, Jenelle Chin from Uniondale and Loose Livingston from Roosevelt.
Honorees will include: Mr. Hal Jackson-the broadcasting genius and host of 'The Sunday Morning Classics" on WBLS Radio, and his lovely wife Debbie-July and September Issues 2003 Cover Story, Frank Mercado-Valdes- CEO of The Heritage Network- Cover of May 2003 Issue James "Kraze" Billings & Paul Delsoin-Owners of "All Access" DVD: Another 1st - Cover story July 2003, All have been in past issues of SGIB magazine. In addition, the first awards honoring Long Island's music pioneers will be given to emcees from "Past to Present" that proudly represent Strong Island-MC Shan from Brentwood, Parrish Smith (EPMD) from Central Islip, Erick Sermon (EPMD) from Brentwood, De La Sol from Amityville and LL. Cool J. from Bay Shore.
This is long over due for Long Island.
The Reception will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM and Dinner will be served at 8:00 PM along with Presentations & Performances till 11:00 PM at the Mediterranean Manor 303 East Main Street Patchogue, NY 11772. MIKE is the American Kidney Fund's Minority Intervention and Kidney Education program. MIKE's mission is to address the high rate of kidney disease among the African- American, Hispanic, Native American and Asian-American communities by providing comprehensive education, diagnostic screening, resource referral and supportive follow-up and will sponsor P.B.G.'s Productions new program entitled "Professionals Teaching Our Own" through the nonprofit organization of Mr. Chris Curry's "So You Want To Be A Star" and Gerard McLeod, CEO of P.B.G.'s Productions & Editor-In-Chief of Strong G Island Biz (SGIB) Magazine.
