MIAMI, FL. (Univision Network) - "Premios Juventud" promises to kick up the excitement of awards ceremony entertainment several notches with the addition of the hottest pop, hip-hop, rap, urban and regional Mexican personalities to its performance line-up. Joining previously announced multi-platinum artist Juanes is Latin pop sensation Paulina Rubio and the leading urban banda/rap duo Akwid. Also slotted to perform their live U.S. TV debut of "Duele el amor" (Love Hurts) are Aleks Syntek and Ana Torroja, lead singer of Spanish pop rock band "Mecano."

Joining the roster of celebrity award presenters are 2003 Miss Universe Amelia Vega, sultry Latin film star Sofia Vergara and the always fashionable Mexican actress Laisha Wilkins. Also scheduled to present an award is the totally unpredictable and crazy-in-love couple Niurka Marcos and Bobby Larios. Jorge Campos, the internationally recognized soccer player famous for his flamboyant style, will also present an award this year along with well known Latin celebrities Aracely Arambula, Valentino Lanus, Ana Claudia Talancon, Patricia Velasquez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Other artists scheduled to perform include Jennifer Pena, one of the Latin music industry's brightest young stars; A.B. Quintanilla and the Kumbia Kings, the Latin crossover group known for its innovative fusion of Tejano, Regional Mexican, and Reggae genres; merengue hip-hop masters Fulanito; and the "reggeton" diva Ivy Queen.

"Premios Juventud" is Spanish-language television's first ever awards show where Hispanic youth will honor their idols in the areas of Film, Music, Sports, Fashion and Pop Culture. The 2-hour special will air live from Miami on Thursday, September 23 at 9 p.m. (8 p.m. Central), only on the Univision Television Network.
