NEW YORK (RCA Records) - Singer/songwriter
Ray LaMontagne will embark on his first national tour later this month, when he kicks off a fall schedule of dates with a gig at New York City's Housing Works Used Book Cafe. Supporting his debut album
Trouble, which will be released on
September 14th on RCA Records, LaMontagne will make solo appearances across the U.S. throughout the month of
September (a complete list of dates is attached).
Beginning in October, Ray will support
Badly Drawn Boy on the western portion of his national tour.
Rolling Stone recently said that Ray's "sandpaper croon sounds like church, Van Morrison and dusty porches," naming him "Hot Songwriter" in their annual "Hot Issue." Trouble was recorded in Los Angeles and was produced by Ethan Johns. Esquire's Andy Langer describes Trouble in the lead review of their October issue: "These songs will be your best friends. His voice will stop you dead in your tracks. And this scares the shit out of me, but Trouble is only the beginning."
