OutKast's Andre 3000 pushes voting at RNC and making HBO documentary; he coplaborates with with 'Declare yourself' Organization

NEW YORK (OutKast Fans Website) - OutKast rapper Andre 3000 is filming a documentary about his own political awakening. He appeared at the Republican National Convention Wednesday with an agenda of his own: getting young people to vote.
Andre is making a documentary for HBO about how he went from apolitical musician to a voter-registration activist. That doesn't mean he's taking sides.
Andre said he's gone into "damage control" because of rumors that OutKast would play at the convention. "What I'm doing is nonpartisan," Andre said. "I just want people to vote."
Andre was also at the Democratic National Convention.

Also, Andre 3000 works with the non-partisan organisation Declare Yourself - founded by TV producer Norman Lear.
He said about the performances at two political Conventions: "The reason why I'm here is because I'm doing a documentary on youth and voting," Dre said at his hotel Wednesday night. "I guess people got wind that I was coming here for the Republican convention, they really didn't know the complete story. I wanted to clear it up. You had a lot of people around town, people in the streets, that heard I was supposed to be performing at the convention.
A lot of people are riled up and upset, and that was never the case. It almost leads me to think, 'Who put it out there that I was performing?' I don't know if it was to bring heat to a certain party. I just want to let people know that this is a nonpartisan documentary I'm doing."
