LOS ANGELES (Eagle Rock Ent./www.eaglerockent.com) - Beating out the Rolling Stones, Beck and others was the Eagle Rock Entertainment DVD release of 'FRANK ZAPPA - BABY SNAKES' which won the Surround Music Award for Best Menu Design. On hand to accept the award was Gail Zappa, wife of the late Frank Zappa and other family members including son Dweezil Zappa, who produced the 5.1 Audio Mix for Baby Snakes. Eagle Rock Entertainment released Frank Zappa's acclaimed film Baby Snakes on DVD for the first time in December of 2003. A 'movie about people who do stuff that is not normal,' Baby Snakes provides on and offstage glimpses of arcane behavior engaged in by Zappa and fellow musicians. Winning first prize at The First International Festival of Musical Films in 1981, and First Prize in a French Animation Film Competition, Baby Snakes became an instant cult hit when it premiered at the Victoria Theatre in Times Square NYC during Christmas week of 1979 (the film ran 24 hours a day throughout the week). This is the second Surround Music Award for Eagle Rock Entertainment. In 2003 Eagle took home the SMA for Pink Floyd's - The Making of the Dark Side of The Moon for Best Additional Features. Eagle Rock Entertainment develops, acquires and produces music programming for a wide range of notable and high profile artists, which the company distributes on a worldwide basis. Eagle Rock Entertainment, Eagle Vision and Eagle Eye Media are wholly owned divisions of Eagle Rock Group, LTD.
