Before moving to Fort Wayne, IN, the California native were embarking on a musical journey with an unknown destination. Both siblings learned professional musicality from a young age, and were enrolled in a hip-hop dance academy. Over time, KJ became more intrigued by the percussion and focused more on that. In the summer of 2006, KJ and Mila's cousins and two of Mila's friends created a musical group for fun and realized how much they loved writing and recording. The group eventually came to an end when work and school schedules became a conflict. The Sims' decided to keep making music and formed the band Chrome Cats who eventually signed with LakeFront Records. They wrote and recorded music religiously in order to sculpt and mould a unique sound that would be comfortable and represent them in the truest way. The two moved on to Fort Wayne in 2009 and kept working on their music. Since then, they have moved to
