New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ SGC Media) With their highly anticipated sophomore EP confirmed for an October 4 release, Australia's Hey Geronimo have delivered an accompanying video clip for their latest single - the festival-style anthem 'Lazer Gun Show'.
Following-on from a run of radio singles over the last eighteen months, 'Lazer Gun Show' has legitimized Hey Geronimo as one of the most innovative and quirky purveyors of indie music in Australia today. Directed by Sydney visual artists, Jefferton James, (Boy & Bear, Emma Louise, The Griswolds) the video clip juxtaposes a retro-inspired aeronautical saga alongside some of Hey Geronimo's biggest songwriting hooks.
Lead singer Pete Kilroy says "We wanted to do something a bit different this time and working with Jefferton was a great fit. It's been our dream to make a bad 70s sci-fi montage film for a while now, so we're quite proud of this effort."
2012 was an enormous year for band, with breakthrough single 'Why Don't We Do Something' notching major international syncs and clocking up nearly a million YouTube views, and follow-up tracks 'Carbon Affair' and 'Dreamboat Jack' helping the band achieve an inclusion in triple j's Next Crop list. Their debut EP has most recently hit the top 100 on the US CMJ College Radio charts, with an invitation to play at the annual CMJ Festival later this year, in addition to radio playlisting in The Netherlands on tastemaker station, 3FM.
The band have already spent a majority of their time on the road this year alongside Strange Talk, 90s indie legends Presidents of the USA, and most recently with Pluto Jonze. The band is set to continue its dedicated tour agenda when they embark in-support of Sydney's Deep Sea Arcade this month to some of Australia's best capital city venues, kicking off with a spot at the internationally recognized BIGSOUND festival.
