Calico The Band Celebrates 100 Shows As They Head To Nashville For Americana Week (Sept. 17th - 21st)
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Calico The Band official website) CALICO the band, the California Country female Americana trio celebrates 100 shows together heading to Nashville kicking off AMA Week at The Rutledge, Tuesday night September 17th at 7:00pm (410 4th Ave S. Nashville, TN 37201.) In addition, CALICO will be playing East X Americana earlier in the day at 5:30pm at The East-Centric Pavilion (1006 Fatherland St. East Nashville.) GRETSCH Guitars will be showcasing the trio at Corner Music (2705 12th Ave. S. Nashville) on Friday, September 20th.

The singer-songwriter "supergroup" comprised of troubadours Kirsten Proffit, Jaime Wyatt, and Manda Mosher, celebrated their 100th show in their hometown of Los Angeles at Hotel Café on Thursday, August 29th performing to a packed house of fans, friends, and industry insiders after coming home from a summer of touring. Following their show at Hotel Café, industry insiders had this to say:

"What could be better than not one, not two but three supremely talented songwriters-vocalists-instrumentalists? Calico is a band to be reckoned with on the L.A. scene of the moment." - Chris Morris, Watusi Rodeo

"Jaw dropping!" - Neil Portnow, President/CEO, The GRAMMYs

"Truly the second coming of the Dixie Chicks, only better!" - Al Bowman, President, The Los Angeles Music Awards

"I have been wanting to see the band for the last few months because of all the buzz generated by this dynamic trio. Believe me, the hype is nothing compared to the real thing. Best thing to happen to music since the Dixie Chicks!" - Robert Legget, The Examiner

The Americana Music Association holds a series of shows leading up to the Americana Music Awards every September in Nashville. In 2010, the AMA's officially showcased CALICO the band, member Manda Mosher. This year CALICO the band will make their first appearance as a group in Nashville for AMA Week.

CALICO the band formed in late 2012 creating a refreshingly lush, original, 3-part harmony vocal sound reminiscent of an earthier Dixie Chicks mixed with Crosby, Stills, and Nash; carrying the torch of modern day Americana. CALICO represents GRETSCH Guitar's roots instrument line collectively playing acoustic guitar, resonator, mandolin, banjo and harmonica.

CALICO has quickly become one of the most popularly requested acts on the West Coast and Arizona live music scenes. Their recently completed 8 track EP includes the singles "Fools Gold", "San Andreas Shake", and "Runaway Cowgirl", which can be found exclusively on bandcamp: https://calicotheband.bandcamp.com.

CALICO the band is an all female Americana style guitar-slinging trio. Belting out 3 part harmonies, the ladies can manhandle a guitar, dobro, mandolin, banjo and harmonica. Don't let their good looks fool you, Calico can write a mean hook and perform their sonic gems with total dedication. Manda Mosher, Kirsten Proffit, and Jaime Wyatt have recognized their musical sisterhood by adopting the personas of Perry Rose, Juniper, and Snap Dragon Calico (names chosen to honor their influences or reflect their personalities). All sing (of course), and they're forging skillful and effective vocal arrangements employing alternating lead vocals and multi-part harmonies.
