Rob Erickson Releases Full-Length LP 'Just Passin' Thru'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Composer and performer of modern jazz Rob Erickson has released his flagship debut LP record, "Just Passin' Thru." The record is comprised of 20 original tracks for a total listening time of approximately one hour, making for a comprehensive treatment of Erickson's repertoire. A touching, inspiring, and exceedingly colorful record, "Just Passin' Thru" hits every note in the emotional scale and stands as an overt success in terms of songwriting, performance and production.

Erickson cites as main artistic influences the likes of legends Oscar Peterson, Larry Carlton, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, the Beatles, and Charlie Parker.

"My parents exposed me to all kinds of music," Erickson writes. "Mother played piano. I took one year of piano lessons and quit for guitar to play rock music. I played in rock bands in high school, but switched back to piano / keys at age 20."

Now a retired police officer after three decades on the force, Erickson took music lessons and attended college to study jazz while working in law enforcement. His apparent knack for leading these dual lifestyles shows in the myriad perspectives and tones of "Just Passin' Thru." Erickson's tracks are often surprising, each one having its own character with just enough in common with the other songs to maintain a coherent whole.

"I played solo and with bands part-time while working as an officer," writes Erickson. "After retirement, I started writing / composing and recording at home. I have always listened to a wide variety of music (jazz, rock, electronic, country, some rap, etc.). The music on my CD reflects that variety."

Also very much of note regarding "Just Passin' Thru" is that Erickson has pledged 10 percent of all profits from album sales (online and otherwise) to the Houston Food Band, which assists in feeding hungry families of Houston, TX.

"Just Passin' Thru" by Rob Erickson is available online worldwide.

The LP "Just Passin' Thru" is distributed globally by MondoTunes (www.MondoTunes.com) and is available at iTunes or www.top40-charts.com for convenient purchase and download.
