New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ER:M+M) After their recent performance at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico where they sold over 20,000 tickets, ENJAMBRE revealed the dates of the U.S. tour that will start on October 9, at the Conga Room in Los Angeles. The group is known on both sides of the border and one of the groups in Mexico that currently has strong drawing power. They frequently perform at mass concerts selling out all the tickets, one of the reasons why there is growing expectation and anticipation for Enjambre's visit to the United States.
Enjambre is a musical ensemble of contemporary rock. Their sound holds sparks of ballads and melodies from the 60's and 70's, their songs have a color of nostalgia and climactic moments; all of it surrounded by a rock and roll context. Enjambre was initially formed by the brothers Luis (vocals) and Rafael Navejas (bass guitar) from Zacatecas. Their first record called "Consuelo en domingo" was released in 2005, and they start a hype in Southern California's Rock en Español scene. After a change in the group's line-up, the youngest of the Navejas brothers, Julián (keyboards), joins the band, as well as his friends and childhood musical companions:
Angel Sánchez (drums) from Fresnillo Zacatecas and Javier Mejía (guitar) from Anaheim, California.
For their second record, "El segundo es Felino" (2008/09), Enjambre decide to move to Mexico where they quickly become well-known and attract a large number of followers thanks to constant performances, word of mouth advertising, social networds and independent radio stations. At the end of 2010, Enjambre signs with EMI and releases their third record, Daltónico, an album which has been labeled as "one of the best
Latino rock albums of the year" by Rolling Stone magazine and which exposed the group to mass audiences.
After having been nominated as "Best New Band" and awarded the Telehit Award for "Best Alternative Band" in 2011, Enjambre received other important nominations and awards during the rest of the year, becoming one of the 5 Mexican bands with the largest following on Facebook. Later, Enjambre took on a successful tour through Colombia and Argentina. Their ongoing participations at mass festivals, including the Vive
Latino Festival during the last 3 years, with their performances being one of the best-attended, reflect the success the group currently enjoys. Their most recent album, "Huespedes del Orbe" (2012), made its debut and for several months remained among the 15 most sold records.
Tickets for the tour's 7 shows are already on sale.
