Mad July Releases Debut Album
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mad July official website) Mad July is a band project created by three songwriters who have worked together for years and collaborated on many projects. Fronted by the voice and melodies of Juliet Lyons, powered by Marc Blackwell's commanding production, and driven by lyrics from the mad pen of Dean Brantley Taylor, Mad July's debut album, "Riding Gravity," is now available in all major digital outlets, including iTunes, Amazon mp3, Spotify, Google Music, Bandcamp, CD Baby, etc. In its first week of release, it hit #2 on Amazon's Hot New Adult Alternative charts. It has been nominated for two (2013) Hollywood Music In Media Award 2013 in the Best Female Vocal and Best Alternative Song categories .

The band has never met in person. They don't talk on the phone. They write and produce entirely over the internet using email and sharing files. Even email 'discussion' is kept to a minimum. They prefer to let their lyrics, melodies, singing and playing do the talking as they work on a song.

It is therefore not surprising that their songs are neither about nor inspired by specific real life events, but are instead bold epic fantasies born of dreams and desire. The songs on this album call upon a wide range of influences from Evanescence to Kelly Clarkson, Within Temptation to Florence + the Machine, and some reminiscence of 80s power divas like Heart's Ann Wilson and Pat Benetar. Stand out tracks to listen for are the anthemic "Tonight I'm Young," the seductive "The Night's Heart," and the epic, cinematic "I Don't Know Where You Are."
