LOS ANGELES (20th Century Fox Home Entertainment) - Mel Gibson's /The Passion of the Christ/ released on DVD and video yesterday to immediate boffo sales numbers. Over 2.4 million copies had been sold by mid-day alone, and by the end of the day 4.1 million had sold. That number is the most ever for an R-rated film. 'Finding Nemo' holds the one-day record for DVD sales, with 8 million. 'The Passion of the Christ' is the second highest grossing movie of 2004. It's $370 million box office gross has it topping 'Spiderman 2' and coming in only behind 'Shrek 2'.
