The Wknd Announces The Release Of "The Wknd Sessions Indonesia"
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA (Top40 Charts/ The Wknd) The Wknd is proud to announce the release of "The Wknd Sessions Indonesia", the next chapter in its long-running Internet music series The Wknd Sessions. The first episode of TWS Indonesia will be broadcast on the 8th of November 2013 exclusively on https://www.the-wknd.com. Each episode will feature one prominent Indonesian artist, with one new music video released every Friday, Monday and Wednesday.

TWS Indonesia showcases an exciting and eclectic mix of talent and musical genres, and features live performances and interviews with noteworthy independent musicians. The lineup for this inaugral season includes Morfem, The Experience Brothers, Sigmun, L'Alphalpha, Hightime Rebellion, Danger Dope, Jirapah, Sore, Pandai Besi and White Shoes & The Couples Company.

The Wknd has been at the forefront of championing independent artistes for the past five years, and this new season marks the beginning of its aggressive regional expansion into the Southeast Asian music scene. "To witness and record these bands was an eye-opener and a mind-blowing experience," said Fikri Fadzil, founder and Director of The Wknd. "Our ultimate goal is to share with the world the exceptional talent and promise that exists in this region. The Wknd Sessions Indonesia is our first step towards achieving that objective."

TWS Indonesia is made possible through The Wknd's partnerships with Malaysia Airlines and Indonesia's Ruang Rupa Gallery, as well as venue partners RuRu Shop and Whiteboard Journal. During the production shoot, The Wknd also interviewed prominent figures from the Indonesian music scene such as David Tarigan, Denny Sakrie, Grieve Records, Satria Ramadhan and Indra Ameng; these interviews will be broadcast in between episodes of TWS Indonesia.

With more than 80 independent artistes and 270 videos featured since its first broadcast in 2008, The Wknd hopes to continue breaking new ground on its mission to introduce the best of the Malaysian and Southeast Asian independent music to the public at large.
