Music Publishing writer Catt Gravitt has received three out of the thirteen Country Performance Activity Awards at the 2013 SESAC Nashville
Music Awards. Gravitt won for her songs, "Whiskey," "Alone With You," and "Why Ya Wanna." Kicking off CMA Week last night, SESAC's annual Nashville
Music Awards honored the top songwriters and publishers in the Country and Americana genres. Last year, Catt Gravitt was honored with the Songwriter of the Year Award.
This past year Gravitt celebrated the success of her song "
Alone With You" performed by country singer Jake Owen. The song spent two weeks in the #1 spot on the Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and is platinum having sold over 1,007,000 tracks according to Nielsen Soundscan. Nashville-based Gravitt co-wrote "
Alone With You" with writers Shane McAnally and JT Harding and it was recorded by
Jake Owen for his album Barefoot Blue Jean Night. This song was Owen's second consecutive #1 single.
"Why Ya Wanna" was performed by country singer and One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer. The song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart after being on the chart for 41 weeks and is certified gold having sold over 832,000 tracks
