"Croz," David Crosby's First Solo Studio Album In 20 Years, Set For Release In January
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Legendary singer-songwriter David Crosbywill release Croz, his first solo album of studio material in 20 years, on January 27, 2014 internationally and in the U.K., and January 28 in the U.S.  Featuring 11 new original songs, Croz will come out as a digital and physical release on Blue Castle Records, the label Crosby co-founded with Graham Nash in 2011; distribution is through ADA. In support of the release, Crosby and his touring band are performing a series of concert dates in early 2014. Fans will be able to pre-order the album—and receive a free bonus track—when they purchase tickets.  Tickets go on sale this weekend; for a list of all on sale dates, visit www.davidcrosby.com.

The shows will feature repertoire spanning Crosby's entire career, including songs from Croz and his 1971 solo debut If I Could Only Remember My Name, as well as selections from The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and his partnership as a duo with Nash. Accompanying Crosby on the road are James Raymond (keyboards), Shane Fontayne (guitar), Kevin McCormick (bass), Steve DiStanislao (drums, percussion), and Marcus Eaton (guitar).

"I admit I have been lucky, but this tour is really a high point for me," says David Crosby. "I get to go out and play this record that we have made LIVE: the studio is good but live is even better. I am going to have a blast, and I suspect anyone else who comes to see us will too."

Crosby starts his tour in late January with multiple nights at City Winery in New York City (1/28, 1/29, 1/31), The Barns at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA (2/3-4), City Winery in Chicago (2/8-9), The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco(2/20-21), and ends with multiple nights at the Troubadour in Los Angeles (2/23, 24, 25)—where Crosby played many a night during the iconic venue's 1960s heyday.

David Crosby, James Raymond, and Daniel Garcia produced Croz; and, Crosby and Raymond (David Crosby's son) co-wrote a number of the songs together. In addition to Crosby's band, the album features guest players including Wynton Marsalis ("Holding On To Nothing"), Mark Knopfler ("What's Broken"), Leland Sklar ("Find A Heart") and Steve Tavaglione("Morning Falling," "Find A Heart").

Crosby is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, inducted with The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash; he is also in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.  In addition to his solo work, Crosby still tours and records with CSN, CSN&Y, and as a duo with Nash.  He has written books— Stand and Be Counted: Making Music, Making History/The Dramatic Story of the Artists and Causes That Changed America, and the autobiographical volumes Long Time Gone and Since Then: How I Survived Everything And Lived To Tell About It.
