Biography
Ever since Rupert Blackman left London for Utrecht, the life of English singer songwriter has been one hell of a journey. After he literally got picked up off the streets to make his own record, Causes is his new destination. Together with Jan Schröder, Simon Böing-Messing and Robert Pronk he started his new indie band in Utrecht.
In October 2014 the debut single ‘Teach me how to Dance with you’ was released. This song is from their new album, for which Rupert and Jan worked with English producer Ian Grimble, who is responsible for the sound of bands such as Daughter and Mumford & Sons. This new record by Rupert Blackman doesn’t really sound like Rupert Blackman. That’s because it isn’t Rupert. It's Causes. A new band, a new name, a new sound.
