Diego hard rock outfit Sprung Monkey are set to release their brand new album "Dead Is Dead" this week and the group are streaming their entire album online on SoundCloud at https://soundcloud.com/pacific-records-1/sets/sprung-monkey-dead-is-dead/s-a1Qeh. The album features a guest appearance by Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir on the track "
Save Me". Sprung Monkey are set to hit the road in support of their new album beginning on November 26th in Fullerton, CA.
"With such a long period between recordings we knew this record had to mean something special. We believe we have done just that. With no corporate strings pulling at the end product we were able to write and record an album that was true to ourselves and able to reflect where we are and most importantly who we are as a band," said frontman Steve Summers. "From start to finish "Dead Is Dead" is an in your face, flying down the freeway hell ride; 10 songs of pinned adrenaline. This album isn't the girl next door. It's the hooker on the corner, down and dirty rock-n-roll."
From the early days of selling CD's out of their trunk to their breakout success on MTV, Sprung Monkey has kept true to their heavy, hypnotic sound. Through the years, Sprung Monkey have become a staple in the extreme and action sports world, appearing on ESPN's X-Games and contributing tunes to countless surf, skate, and snowboarding films, which opened up opportunities that have included major tours and festivals in United States, Europe, and Australia. The band's relentless work ethic and tour schedule earned them spots on the Van's Warped Tour, a slot at the world famous KROQ's Weenie Roast, film and television placements, and an appearance on the Conan O'Brian Show. Over the past few years the guys have been exploring, growing and focusing their musical talents to write some of their best music to date which continues to fuel and embrace the classic Sprung Monkey sound and the California lifestyle that their music embodies.
