DJ Moonstone Slated To Drop The Seventh Album Of His Chilled-Out EDM Collection
ATLANTA, GA. (Top40 Charts/ WiFi-PR Group) Out of Atlanta, GA, rises DJ Moonstone, a young but already long-time musician with a propensity for vibrant hooks and a fresh take on electronic dance music. A multitalented individual, DJ Moonstone handles all aspects of his music production, from writing and programming to synth playing and singing. The resulting sound is a polished body of work that keeps the listener chilled out but steadily moving and grooving, and his upcoming seventh album will be the latest chapter in his lengthy discography.

A musician since childhood, DJ Moonstone took piano, trumpet and guitar lessons at a young age, and his grandfather was a jingle writer—a talent and love of music that rubbed off on him. But it was when he bought his first production program at age 12 that he realized that he wanted to use samples and midi to make entire songs from the ground up. He released albums of his work at a local record shop and sold them in high school to whoever was interested. Despite financial hardship and working without much recognition in the beginning, he has persevered and developed into a talented musician with a promising career.

With musical influences that run the gamut, DJ Moonstone notes everyone from Paul Simon, Phil Collins and Manu Chao to Gorillaz, Cut Copy, Thievery Corporation and Paul Van Dyk. With such a wide range of influences, he produces a distinct sound that people are generally unable to compare to anyone else.

As for inspirations for his music itself, he draws on such concepts as living paycheck to paycheck and feeling like his life has hit dead ends. His music reflects his understanding that love is more complicated and more work than first thought, including disagreements with girlfriends and tough relationships. Through his music, he also expresses an innate desire to overcome a life of mediocrity.

DJ Moonstone currently has six albums and two singles out on iTunes in addition to availability at other outlets. These albums were all self-published between 2006 and 2013, including Heat (2006), Dynamic (2007), Planets (2008), American Idle (2008), "Heart Attack" (2010), "Crab Walk" (2010), Trouble (2011) and Nightlife (2013).

DJ Moonstone has had several notable accomplishments over the years. His tracks "American Idle" and "DK Bounce" were featured in FutureMusic UK Magazine, and FutureMusic also used "DK Bounce" as its SoundCloud test track. His song, "You Have No Right" was the winner of Indabamusic's Getty licensing contest. His track "Captain" was featured on Pete Tong's YouTube show, Bedroom Bedlam, and "Crab Walk" was used by StyleHaul for their YouTube fashion series featuring Miley Cyrus' stylist, Simone Harouche. He was also the resident DJ at the White Heart in Portland, ME, from 2007 to 2009.

"One Look" (featuring Kate AM) will be DJ Moonstone's contribution to WiFi PR Group's upcoming Indie Anthems Vol. 5, which is a digital mixtape that features a wide range of up-and-coming international talent. The mixtape will be handed out on limited download cards at Coachella in April 2014.

Also coming up in 2014, DJ Moonstone looks forward to releasing "One Look" as a single to coincide with the Indie Anthems Vol. 5 release as well as releasing his seventh complete album.

DJ Moonstone's music is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and the Google Play Store. You can also listen to many of these tracks on his SoundCloud page.
