New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Vajra official website) NYC based progressive art rock group Vajra released a new interlude called "Wavering" on their Soundcloud page. The band's composer and vocalist, Annamaria Pinna states, "'Wavering' is reflective of the head space I was in last year. After spending the New Year in silent meditation, I felt the need to purge and release certain patterns of behavior into sound in order to break past deleterious cycles so I could move ahead into this new year. I had no idea how it would turn out. It was as if it was writing itself. But after it was done, and I listened to it, I had chills." Apparently, others agree because a few days later, the interlude was picked up and featured in Amsterdam music blog Musicuratum ( https://musicuratum.com/2014/01/05/this-weeks-tracks-from-soundcloud-2/ ).
Vajra's music is hauntingly dark and hypnotic weaving Eastern Indian themes with melodic, progressive rock creating foreboding and mysterious lullabies. The band played their first show in November 2011 and have been on the move since then touring the East and West coasts and securing licensing deals with Viacom, The Discovery Network, Showtime and Bravo. The band's music was selected for several compilation CDs and by Virgin America for the In-Flight Entertainment Series.
The band is currently in the studio working on their second album. For more information about Vajra, go to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/vajratemple .
