NASHVILLE, TN (Webster PR) - Greg Dorschel, President, Ash Street Music, Nashville, TN, has announced its innovative alignment with one of the most successful independent song plugging companies in town, SharpObjects.
Ash Street Music originated and opened its doors on Music Row in Spring 2002. Since then, the company has signed a number of select songwriters and artists, acquired several catalogs and recently enjoyed its thirty-first cut of the year. 'SharpObjects staff members, Steven Sharp, Sheryl Loftis, and Rick Souza have their own list of successes that compliment and strengthen our initiative,' says Dorschel. 'Ash Street's partnership with SharpObjects will accelerate our ability to achieve one of our primary objectives—to be recognized as one of the most respected and successful independent publishing companies in all genres of music. Ash Street's association with SharpObjects will expand the opportunities for our music to be heard.'
The Ash Street Songwriter Roster includes Irene Kelley (...with recordings by Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, Ricky Skaggs, and Bill Anderson; she has just released her own album entitled Thunderbird on Rounder Records-Europe); Dillon Dixon (…accomplished musician, songwriter, singer and performing artist with cuts by Steve Holy, George Jones, Mindy McCready, Neal McCoy and Restless Heart; Dixon has also written for or performed on many movie soundtracks including Terminator 3, Scream, Walk Across Egypt and Cursed); Michele McCord (…famed for "Girl Thang," recorded by Tammy Wynette and Wynonna; McCord has also written songs recorded by artists such as Reba, Trisha Yearwood, Alecia Elliot, Lorrie Morgan and Sammy Kershaw); as well as Andrew Dorff, Jimmy Muffin, Tom Gould and Josh Osborne.
Steven Sharp, SharpObjects CEO has promoted over sixty singles to achieve No. 1 chart success for artists such as Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, Travis Tritt, Faith Hill, and Randy Travis. The songwriters on the SharpObjects' roster have enjoyed eleven cuts in eleven months. Artists such as Peter, Paul and Mary, Sherrie Austin, Trisha Yearwood, and Michelle Wright have recently recorded a tune from the SharpObject catalog. 'Our writers have had over 150 major cuts and over thirty No. 1 records on not only the country charts but POP as well - from Reba to Ricky Nelson,' adds Sharp.
'Our alliance with Ash Street Music will afford us diversity; in turn giving both companies a longer arm to reach outside the Country music scene and enter places where most independent publishing companies have not yet gone.'
In addition to conducting traditional music publishing business, Ash Street Music actively pursues creative ventures and partnerships in television and film; recording and technology; and artist/writer development.
Ash Street's most recent activity includes a cut with Universal Recording artist Pat Green entitled 'Somewhere Between Texas and Mexico' (written by Irene Kelley and Trent Summer) and a song placement in the upcoming Wes Craven movie Cursed. 'Let Me Out,' written by Dillon Dixon and Marco Beltrami, and performed by Dixon, will be featured during the closing credits. The film is expected to be released January 2005.
