Psychedelic Mooj Releases New Album "Further Than You Ever Knew"
CHANDLER, AZ (Top40 Charts) Psychedelic Mooj knew something special was about to happen when they returned to SER Soundworks in Chandler, AZ and recorded their fourth album, Further than You Ever Knew (their second on Univibe Garden Records). The end result was mind-blowing. The band has worked with legendary producer Shane Matsumoto before (Analog Soup) but nothing prepared them for what resulted this time. "This was the very best work any of us had ever done," said Matsumoto. The band agrees. They went further than they ever knew.

From the raw vintage tones to the beautiful cover art designed by famous Ukrainian artist, Anna Savkina, Further Than You Ever Knew captures an era of authenticity and musical exploration.

The reason this album sounds better than the rest is "patience and listening." Psychedelic Mooj took their time to get things right. The band was able to step back and let the songs truly develop themselves. One of the key factors in getting their vintage sound was Matsumoto's ability to produce and engineer classic 70s guitar, bass and drum tones. This is done by mic-ing the entire room and letting vintage instruments and amps do their job.

Going nine years strong, Psychedelic Mooj is now one of Arizona's preeminent psychedelic blues jam bands. Founding members Ram Tuli, Richard Chavez and Dave Hull were joined by Rick Obenshain in 2011 and they've never sounded better. They know their patience will soon payoff.

Further than You Ever Knew has it all. "Sometimes it Happens That Way," "Blood in the Snow," "Gimme More," and "Undulations" show the band can and will play straight-up rock n' roll and sing in Russian. "Thus Always to Tyrants," "Further than You Ever Knew," and "Eight Burnin' Four Turning," showcase the band's raw energy. "What's Going on?" feels like an anomaly, a relaxed way to get ready for something big. That something arrives with "Sterling Sea of Blue" and "So Far Away." Then "GT350," "Rock the Rhythm Room," "Havin' A Good Time," "My Father was a Famous Two Gunman" and "Spirit of 1974" celebrate the band's love of traditional American music.
