New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ER:M+M) After excellent concerts presented recently in South America, the singer/songwriter
Julieta Venegas returns to the United States to continue with the second part of her "Los Momentos" tour. This Mexican artist, a recipient of multiple awards and nominations, also confirmed her participation at a series of seven concerts presented by Jack Daniels under the name "Sala 7" which will begin in New York, adding up to almost 20 confirmed concerts countrywide.
After the end of her tour, Julieta´s performances will continue in Mexico, including a long-awaited show in Tijuana B.C., her hometown, the place where she began her journey as an artist. Other highlights of her concerts in Mexico will be the performance at the
Arena de Monterrey and the show at Teatro Metropolitan, a show that focuses on children, where her songs will be performed in different versions, using toy instruments, pots and pans and improvised household percussion instruments instead of the instruments that are regularly used at her shows. This show called "Julieta Venegas Sus canciones Versiones para Niños" is a benefit concert organized by the UNAM (Universidad Autonoma de México) Foundation. All procedes will be donated to education. After Julieta´s performances in Mexico, the tour will include Panama and Brazil with 5 concerts in the latter country´s main cities.
Julieta also continues to write music for theater and movies. She is currently putting the final touch on the music for the movie "Niño De Piedra" which will make its debut at the end of the year. At the beginning of January,
Julieta Venegas was nominated for the Premios Goya, an award bestowed each year by the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Science of Spain in the category of "Best Original Song", with her song " Aquí Sigo". This is the soundtrack of the movie called "A night in Old Mexico", starring Robert Duvall.
Produced by Yamil Rezc and Julieta herself, "Los Momentos", her seventh album, has been nominated for 1 Latin Grammy awardsas Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album. This has been a very important year and album in Julieta Venegas´career, and the record has been highly acclaimed by the specialized press.
