Bowie Wraps LA Video Shoot As Single's Popularity Surges
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Francis Bowie official website) Within hours of wrapping the music video shoot for his single "Number One," pop artist Francis Bowie learned the song is becoming wildly popular on commercial radio around the US.

"It's obviously a thrill to have people connecting to my music so quickly," Bowie said. "I think it might be a sign that people are hungry for smart pop music."

Just released February 11, "Number One" was one of the most-added singles on Top 40 and adult contemporary commercial stations in the US, according to data reported over the last week.

As "Number One" gained traction, Bowie was in LA shooting the video for it. Written and directed by Michael Jones, the video will be released March 11. Jones, longtime artist manager and owner of dGenerate Records, will also write and direct the videos for Bowie's two upcoming singles, "Sunny Day" and "Sex, Drugs and Thrilling." All three songs are part of Bowie's "Sex, Drugs and Thrilling" EP to be released in June by dGenerate. They were produced by Justin Trugman (Backstreet Boys, Eminem, JoJo and Mickey Avalon) and Jeff Blue (Linkin Park, Macy Gray, Limp Bizkit, Korn, and Hoobastank).

"We're creating videos that are as unique as Francis Bowie," said Jones. "All three are part of a larger project to be released with the EP and fans can expect some surprising twists in them."

"The videos will be as unpredictable as the material, running from light to dark themes," Bowie said. "The EP is 'Sex, Drugs and Thrilling,' and the videos will definitely reflect that."

Bowie's exhilarating music, gender-bending sexuality and social commentaries made a splash in his native Denmark. And after hearing his eponymously titled EP in 2011, critics worldwide raved enthusiastically. "Francis Bowie is like a powerful drug - you can't help but get sucked in after you're exposed to him once," raved EVOR reviewer Rory Richardson. Meanwhile, IndieMusicDigest hailed him as an "amazing creative genius." And Blushing Panda proclaimed, "It's like watching a male version of Lady Gaga at times. The sound is 80′s a bit like if Har Mar Superstar (just starting out) released music nowadays but with a modern twist."

Francis Bowie, whose name pays homage to the brilliant painter Francis Bacon and rock icon David Bowie, is a musical and visual artist. Rooted in rock and roll, Bowie led indie rock band A Love You before going solo in 2010. He's renowned in Denmark and beyond for his visual art and has been the owner of two art galleries.

Bowie kicked off 2014 by joining KounterKulture's roster, working closely with manager Michael Jones.

"Number One" is available for download from all major online retailers.
