NEW YORK (The Island Def Jam
Music Group/ www.sum41.com) -
Fresh from completing their long-awaited third album, CHUCK, which will arrive in stores October 12th, Island Records act
Sum 41 will jump back on the road for a month-long tour with Good Charlotte, opening October 21st at the Paramount Theater in Seattle.
In addition,
Sum 41 will perform on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on October 15th (NBC). Other television appearances include the Gravity Games on
September 26 (CBS) and the Hard Rock Live Series on October 20th (MTV).
Anticipation for CHUCK is building on the strength of the first single "We're All To Blame."
The single is currently on a great run at rock radio. Tastemakers who got on-board early include K-Rock/ New York, KROQ/ Los Angeles, WHFS/ Washington D.C., WXTM/ Cleveland, WBRU/ Providence, KITS/ San Francisco, and WFNX/ Boston, with other top stations quickly following suit.
In addition, the "We're All To Blame" video has been added to MTV, MTV2 and Fuse. It made its debut on MTV's "TRL" September 10th, and the special "Sum 41 Makes A Video" aired on MTV and MTV2.
The new clip, which features the band on the television show 'Solid Gold' was directed by Marc Klasfeld.
Klasfeld has worked closely with Sum 41 to put a unique creative spin on all their videos, including "Fat Lip," "In Too Deep," "Still Waiting," "What We're All About," and "Hell Song."
Produced by Greig Nori (No Warning, Autopilot Off), CHUCK was named in honor of Chuck Pelletier, a United Nations worker who daringly rescued Sum 41 from bombs and gunfire that erupted during a trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The band was filming a documentary (with the nonprofit group War Child Canada) about the impact of the longstanding civil war on the nation.
Sum 41 brought their experiences in music and life to CHUCK, making it their most inventive and creative release thus far. Sum 41's other recordings include their 2000 debut EP Half Hour Of Power, and their subsequent albums All Killer No Filler (2001) and Does This Look Infected (2002). https://www.sum41.com
