Julie Kim: filling in for Macy Gray

TORONTO, Canada (JKB Communication/ www.julie-kim.com) - It looks like Julie Kim is moving to the Major Leagues as Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is releasing WB network's highest rated show ever on DVD this coming October. SPT will release Dawson's Creek 4th Season's DVD on October 5th. Julie Kim's most successful song "Free" was chosen to be part of Episode #418.

Julie Kim, Montrealer that has moved 5 years ago to Toronto for her singing career, couldn't believe what was happening to her. 'We have approached Sony 3 years ago... It was far behind... I never thought they would have contacted me!" said the songwriter. She had co-written and recorded "Free" with producer Brent Bodrug in summer 2001. Following the release of her EP "This Part of Me", "Free" was placed 9th out of 1200 songs in the MIX 99.9 Songwriting Contest (Mix99.9 Toronto Best Variety Radio Station).

SPT was commenting that when the original episode aired on WB, Macy Gray's song was the song chosen for this scene. For unknown reasons Macy's song couldn't be released on the DVD and therefore replaced with "Free". I am sure Julie Kim will always be grateful for it!!
