Broken Machine Rocks Their Upcoming EP And WiFi PR Group Compilation Feature
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ WiFi PR Group) Hailing from Santa Barbara, CA, Broken Machine takes elements from hard rock, grunge and punk to create a sound that is a powerhouse to be experienced live. First captured on their debut EP Medicine Head (2012), Broken Machine is now taking the time to write and produce their next recording, set to be released in mid-summer, coinciding with their song "Hey Now" featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

The group is comprised of four members, all talented in their own right: Schyler Douglas on guitars and vocals, Zachery Zimny on bass, Matty "Boy" Olofson on drums and vocals and Sado Rabaudi on lead guitar. The group draws inspiration from a number of musical influences, including Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, old school English punk, 70s and 80s rock and most original reggae from the 70s and 80s. As for lyrical inspirations, they've touched on a wide range of topics, including love, heartache, human existence, the failed economic, judicial and political systems, rejection and music being stuck in your head—basically capturing anything they feel in the moment.

As a result, Broken Machine's sound is compared to Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and 90s music. To share their carefully crafted sound with the masses, Broken Machine self-published and released their debut EP Medicine Head in 2012.

The group has recorded with Mikey Doling, guitarist of Snot and Channel Zero, who also assisted with writing the music parts of their first demos and helped them make a stand in the music world. They've also performed and recorded with Mick Murphy of My Ruin and Chevy Metal, who is also a co-writer for some of their songs and who helped them produce their Medicine Head EP at The Foo Fighters studio, 606.

Placing second in the New Noise battle of the bands, Broken Machines has proven their ability to stand out among other bands and showcased the firm grasp they have on both their individual and collective talents as well as their well-harnessed sound.

Broken Machine will join a host of other international talent spanning a variety of genres when their track "Hey Now" is featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, set to be released at NXNE in June 2014. The digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more copies will be made available via the Indie Anthems Bandcamp website.

In addition to this compilation feature, Broken Machine also has future plans of releasing their next EP in mid-summer 2014, entitled Pretty Parasite.

Broken Machine has taken a break from performing live to work on recording, making a new video and writing new material. But once they wrap up these projects and release their upcoming EP, it is likely that they will pick the tour circuit back up in promotion of the new album. In the meantime, you can watch videos of their live performances, including songs like "Drill My Head," "Pretty Parasite" and "Taking Me Down," all from May 2013 appearances.

You can find Broken Machine's music on their ReverbNation page.
