NEW YORK (Island Def Jam Music Group) - On September 28th 2004, Shawnna, the rapid-fire lyricist from Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace crew, will release her debut solo album, "Worth Tha Weight." The long awaited album features the chart topping hit single, "Shake Dat Sh**" which features her Disturbing Tha Peace partner, Ludacris.

Making a mark with her appearance on Ludacris' No 1 hit single, "What's Your Fantasy," Shawnna is a seasoned hip-hop vixen who takes control of the mic with her throaty, aggressive rhymes. Her verses are laced with themes ranging from happiness to life's difficulties and everything in between. The 26-year-old Southside Chicago native is about to take our rap world by storm as the first female artist from Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace crew.

The daughter of blues legend Buddy Guy, Shawnna displays diversity and multiple lyrical stylings on the new release. Her solo debut Worth the Weight promises to bring more depth than just the average rhymes of Burberry, Prada, and sleeping around. "I want my music to be an outlet for women who have children; who feel like they cannot reach their goals and reach their dreams," Shawnna promises. "I want people to understand and feel what I am saying."

And rap fans will with tracks like her first single "Shake Dat Sh**" produced by Timbaland featuring Ludacris. Other tracks include "Super Freak" which showcases Shawnna's sexy yet playful side. The show-stopper "R.P.M." proves that not just men can flow like Twista, while many other tracks boast strong guest appearances from artists such as Ludacris, Missy Elliott, Jermaine Dupri, and others.

Shawnna will be visiting the following cities in support of "Worth Tha Weight."
September 29th Chicago, IL
September 30th Chicago, IL
October 1st Puerto Rico
October 2nd Puerto Rico
October 3rd New York, NY
