New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Dubbed the "heir of [Joni] Mitchell" (NY Times),
Judith Owen will release 'Ebb & Flow' (Twanky Records) on May 6, a 12-song collection that "sounds like a lost
Carole King songbook." Produced by Owen and
David Z (Prince), the album recalls the warm sound of the 70s troubadours on a mix of originals and covers like the Mungo Jerry classic "In The Summertime" reworked as a slow groove and "Hey Mister, That's Me Up On The Jukebox" with the same rhythm section as the original
James Taylor performance.
One week after the album's release, Owen will head out for a 16-date tour with the bassist behind Taylor's "You've Got a Friend" and Jackson Browne's 'The Pretender', Leland Sklar. All shows will be free and open to the public in promotion of 'Ebb & Flow'. The tour will close with a full band performance featuring Sklar, drummer Russ Kunkel and guitarist Waddy Wachtel in Los Angeles.
