NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) "Give Me Something," the debut single from Chop Shop/Atlantic recording group Scars on 45, has rocketed into the Top 5 at Triple A radio. The charting puts the band in the enviable company of artists like Atlantic labelmate Death Cab For Cutie, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Jack Johnson, critically acclaimed troubadour Amos Lee, and multiple Grammy award winner Adele.
"Give Me Something" is the title track to the band's debut EP. Released digitally earlier this year, physical copies of the "GIVE ME SOMETHING" EP will be available in stores and online beginning June 21. Physical copies of the "GIVE ME SOMETHING" EP will also be available at all tour stops.
Scars on 45 have already lined up a busy tour schedule to support their new hit single this summer. Beginning with a stop at the Des Moines Art Festival at Western Gateway Park in Des Moines, IA, on June 24th, the quintet will be performing at a number of radio-sponsored events and music festivals before joining Louisiana singer-songwriter Marc Broussard to support the second leg of his national tour. Those dates kick off at New York City's Bowery Ballroom on July 14th and continue into early August (see below itinerary).
Hailing from Bradford, England, Scars on 45 combines the gentle melodic intensity of fellow Brits Snow Patrol and Keane with the added allure of Fleetwood Mac inspired co-ed vocals. The quintet closed 2010 with their first-ever tour of the U.S. supporting One Eskimo - the trek saw the band sell over 1000 handmade copies of their GIVE ME SOMETHING EP in just 2 weeks on the road. The band officially released the 4-song collection as a digital EP at the top of the new year. This past spring, Scars on 45 was highlighted in SPIN magazine's Next Big Things issue and performed a number of high profile showcases at the annual South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin, TX.
Scars on 45 are: Danny Bemrose (vocals/guitar), Aimee Driver (vocals), David "Nova" Nowakowski (keyboards), Stuart Nichols (bass), Chris Durling (drums)
