Elliott Smith Documentary "Heaven Adores You" Coming To Select Theaters Worldwide Beginning May 7, 2015
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / SpectiCast Entertainment) SpectiCast, in association with Eagle Rock Entertainment, and the producers of Heaven Adores You - the new feature documentary about the life and music of Elliott Smith (1969-2003) - have announced the initial slate of over 200 venues worldwide scheduled to screen this film beginning May 7th, 2015.

Directed by Nickolas Rossi, and produced by Jeremiah Gurzi, Kevin Moyer and Marc Smolowitz, Heaven Adores You is the first comprehensive film about prolific American musician Elliott Smith. Smith rose to mainstream prominence when his song "Miss Misery" - included in the soundtrack for the film Good Will Hunting (1997) — was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category in 1998. He struggled with depression and drug use throughout his career, and in 2003, at the age of 34, he died in Los Angeles from two stab wounds to the chest. The film focuses on Elliott's life and music.

Heaven Adores You features both unheard tracks and over 30 on-screen interviews with Smith's closest friends and collaborators, creating an intimate and personal history never seen before. The film premiered in May 2014 at the San Francisco International Film Festival and has gone on to screen at 35+ film festivals on 4 continents, including AFI Docs, DOC NYC, Melbourne International Film Festival, International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, CPH: Dox, among others to rave reviews.

"Smith's life was a trail of tapes, and following it in Heaven Adores You is the film's greatest joy."

- Jayson Green, Pitchfork
"Heaven Adores You is a tribute more fitting for Elliott Smith's legions of diehard fans but also to those waiting in the wings, yet to discover his work."

- Celine Teo-Blockey, AXS Entertainment
"Heaven Adores You is a beautiful experience, start-to-finish -- just as Elliott's life was."

- Logan Lynn, Huffington Post
SpectiCast Co-founder and President Mark Rupp said, "Elliott Smith's story is extremely compelling. We are thrilled with the amount of interest this film has gained to date and we expect the number of venues and screenings to continue to increase over the next several months."

Geoff Kempin, Executive Director of Eagle Rock Entertainment said "We are all fans of Elliott's music and it is very gratifying for Eagle Rock to be part of bringing the world this beautiful film."

Producer, Marc Smolowitz added, "This has been a labor of love from the very first day we started working on this film. It brings us so much joy to see that Elliott's life and music will be shown around the world."

Tickets are now on sale at the film's website and at participating theaters' box offices.
