Orishas are the next round of performers to be added to the line-up for the 8th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards telecast, it was announced today by The Latin Recording Academy. Newly added presenters include Dominican pop band Aventura, GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY winner and current Latin GRAMMY nominee Elvis Crespo, Mexican actor/singer/model
Sergio Mayer, Spanish hip-hop singer Mala Rodriguez, Mexican actress and singer
Alessandra Rosaldo and Puerto Rican actress and model Dayanara Torres. The 8th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place on Nov. 8 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las
Vegas and will be broadcast on the Univision Network from 8 � 11 p.m. (ET/PT).
Miguel Bose currently is nominated for Record Of The Year ("Nena," with Paulina Rubio), and Album Of The Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Album (Papito). Puerto Rican duo Calle 13 has four nods for Album Of The Year and Best Urban Music Album (Residente O Visitante), Best Short Form Music Video ("Tango Del Pecado"), and Best Urban Song ("Pal Norte"). Intocable has earned a nomination for Best Norteno Album (Crossroads � Cruce De Caminos). La Quinta Estacion is up for Best Pop Album By A Duo or Group With Vocal (El Mundo Se Equivoca). And Orishas has three nominations for Best Urban Music Album (Antidiotico), and Best Urban Song and Best Short Form Music Video ("Hay Un Son").
Previously announced performers include current Latin GRAMMY nominees Juan Luis Guerra (also the 2007 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year), Pepe Aguilar, Conjunto Primavera, and Laura Pausini, as well as Camila. Previously announced presenters feature actor Benjamin Bratt; three-time GRAMMY winner and Latin GRAMMY winner Gloria Estefan; three-time Latin GRAMMY winners, two-time GRAMMY winners and 2007 Latin Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Los Tigres Del Norte; and actress Sofia Vergara.
Preceding the Awards show telecast, Univision will present exclusive "Noche de Estrellas" (Night of the Stars) coverage of the celebrity arrivals direct from the Latin GRAMMY Awards Green Carpet starting at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central). Hosted by "Primer Impacto" co-anchor Barbara Bermudo and popular Univision personality Giselle Blondet, "Noche de Estrellas" will feature live interviews and commentary on the stars and their fashions, and provide viewers an intimate and up close look at Latin music's most glamorous and gala event.
