Sydney, AU. (Top40 Charts/ EMI MUSIC Australia) - MAX and Rolling Stone magazine have partnered together to celebrate the best of the best in Australian music with the ultimate viewer / reader poll - The Great Australian Song List.

Throughout March, MAX viewers and Rolling Stone readers lodged their votes for the greatest 100 Australian songs of all time. Voters made their selection from a list of 200 classic songs including AC/DC, Augie March, Cold Chisel, Icehouse, John Butler Trio, Midnight Oil, Powderfinger, Silverchair, Savage Garden, The Cruel Sea, Missy Higgins, INXS, Hunters & Collectors and more.

Rolling Stone magazine celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Australian edition this May and what better way to celebrate than with a definitive list of the greatest Australian songs!

MAX will broadcast the Top 200 Great Australian Song List nominees from 9am on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May.

What is the greatest Australian song of all time? Rolling Stone will publish the complete Top 100 list in their June issue and MAX will play the list of clips back to back on Saturday 12 May from 9am.
