New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) - Dates and line-up have been announced for the Vans Warped Tour 2007 and metal titans
Killswitch Engage have landed the coveted spot as one of the headliners for this year! Beginning in Pomona, CA on June 29th and wrapping up in Los Angeles, CA on August 25th, the tour routing will see
Killswitch Engage weave a two-month path of destruction across North America. Having previously participated in Ozzfest, Headbangers Ball Tour (also featuring Lamb of God and
Shadows Fall) and shared stages with the likes of Slayer, the band will be provided a unique opportunity via Vans Warped Tour to reach a new and exciting fan base as well as stand out as one of the harder acts on the bill, shredding eardrums as it moves through town.
Killswitch welcomes the return of guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who has spent the past two months recuperating from a severe back injury and receiving donations of beef jerky while his bandmates toured Europe and North America. "It is time for me to rejoin the Killswitch family this summer for the Warped Tour. Yes, I am looking forward to several months filled with dirty fairgrounds, deli meat, beer farts, and endless six packs underneath the summer sun. Muchas gracias to Pat [Lachman, of Damageplan, who stepped in for Dutkiewicz] for filling in on this last tour," Dutkiewicz says. "Also, thanks to all of those who participated in the Jerky Across The World' campaign. What started as a cruel joke to flood our A&R representative's office with jerky turned out to be a sweet outpouting of love from KsE fans. You are all too kind, my sincere thanks goes out to all of you (especially Japan...gotta love that octopus and squid jerky)!!! Long live dried meat products and see you all on Warped!"
As Daylight Dies, Killswitch Engage's fourth and most successful album deftly showcases the band's unique fusion of aggression, melody, rock and metal. With the first single "My Curse" garnering heavy airplay on over 60 stations across the country and reaching top 15 at active rock radio, the video hitting number one on MTV2, as well as just wrapping up the sold out No Fear Music Tour, the band has been on a roll. They recently shot a video for the next single, "The Arms Of Sorrow" in LA, directed by video duo Aggressive (Bloc Party, Megadeth, Black Label Society). The band is scheduled to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 18th.
Alternative Press magazine has declared As Daylight Dies "an album of the year candidate," and SPIN has deemed Killswitch "...the next great metal band."
Through three stellar releases Killswitch Engage has become standard-bearers for an entire generation of hard rock bands. With As Daylight Dies, Killswitch Engage has raised the bar once again and firmly cemented their place as one of the hard rock genre's most successful and relevant bands. The band has also recently graced the covers of several U.S. publications including Revolver, Chord, Outburn and Bass Guitar magazines. Over the past few years, Killswitch Engage has also earned themselves various accolades, from gold certifications to Grammy nominations.
