New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Affluent Records) New York Music industry veteran A&R / Producer Oscar Sanchez is excited to announce the new signing of 23 year old dirty south Louisiana rapper KO$$ to Affluent Records.
KO$$ was born and raised in Chatham in northern Louisiana, a small town at the bottom of the map. He grew up writing lyrics since about 8 or 9 years and started recording at about 13, but officially at age 15 in an actual real life studio. "I just turned 23 on May 2nd 2013 so I have much experience as an artist but new to the official industry 'meaning" the world wide exposure and major distributing this is my big break this year so I'm ready", says KO$$.
KOSS styled as KO$$ simply means: Keep On Striving Successfully and/or Keep On Stacking $. This motto has kept and has enabled him to over come the struggles of the industry as an artist on the rise. In May 2013 his dream came true when his persistence finally panned out. He sent out to Affluent Records CEO OSCAR SANCHEZ thru one of the social sites online, he got lucky and connected thru on an online chat. KO$$ quickly took advantage of the opportunity networked and played for Oscar his music immediately. "I signed KO$$ not long after not because of the music he played for me on his mixtape but for the tone I heard in his voice, after so many years I can tell right off the bat on a persons vocal what kind of sound they might carry behind a mic by just talking to them. He reminded me of a southern version of WARREN G. He contained to me the same air and marketability. When I heard him speak and after listening to what the mixtape had, I knew that I could produce the music that would allow him to get heard and the bigger singles he really needed as well as the sound to create that will bring out the best in his vocals so I signed him quickly afterwards. These days a lot of artists make a lot of tracks but very few artists get to have access to really big singles I grew up in the majors so I know exactly what needs to get done to create that big sound and that type of delivery, with KO$$ he is going to make some great noise simply because he has natural talent. It is a pleasure to work with his passion".
