New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Razor & Tie Media) The original motion picture soundtrack for the new Cartoon Network Movie, CONTEST, is out today
September 30th via Big Cheese Entertainment distributed through Razor & Tie - on iTunes. The 11-track album includes music from Epic act A Great Big World, whose new single was featured on the hit show So You Think You Can Dance and Ryan Star, who has sold more than one million downloads. The soundtrack also features CONTEST movie cast members Kenton Duty and Katherine McNamara, whose first video single "Chatter" premiered on VEVO today - Watch here.
Music videos from songs featured on the soundtrack will be broadcast on the Cartoon Network during the week leading up to the film's broadcast premiere. The Cartoon Network will premiere CONTEST on Sunday, October 6th at 6:00 PM (ET/PT) as the main programming feature for the Network's anti-bullying initiatives in recognition of
National anti-bullying month.
CONTEST is a new feature-length live-action movie that addresses the highly topical issue of school bullying. CONTEST is a coming of age film dealing with the themes of trust, redemption, and the enduring power of friendship. The original music and score highlights the powerful emotions and important topics featured in the movie. All of the songs on the soundtrack are used prominently in the movie and ten of the eleven tracks are exclusive to this soundtrack. In addition five of the soundtrack songs were written specifically for this film and the film's important social commentary.
