Alyson Greenfield Serenades Santa With 'Top 10' Singer-songwriter Playlist
Austin, TX (Top40 Charts/ WomensRadio Official Website) WomensRadio.com, the aggregating radio Website, is celebrating the .Twelve Days of Christmas' exactly twelve days early this year, with twelve exclusive Top 10 Playlists as selected by a staff-selected group of Independent Female (and Male) Musicians and Label Owners. It's as easy as "eleven pipers piping, ten lords-a-leaping, nine ladies dancing, eight maids-a-milking, seven swans-a-swimming, six geese-a-laying, five golden rings, four colly birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree" for readers to view the entire Top 10 lists, a personalized introduction to each list and embedded video players to coincide. All-in-all, each individual Playlist serves as a creative way for the featured selector to create a zeitgeist of sound and visuals relating to a specific genre of music from their own unique, one-of-a-kind perspective.

The eleventh selector, Alyson Greenfield (Brooklyn, NY), was available for comment and when asked about her contribution stated, "Top 10 lists are difficult for me. I'm not really into rating things and saying what is better than what. I just know what I love and what moves me. This list includes songs that first moved me when I was in elementary school and showed me how powerful songwriting could be (Indigo Girls, John Lennon); songs/songwriters that have continued to astound and soothe me with their sonic and lyrical truths (Tori Amos, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Bjork, Thom Yorke); and songs/songwriters I have discovered more recently in life (Sufjan Stevens, Jesca Hoop) that, like others on the list, transport me wholly into the space of the song itself. Every one of these songs reminds me to try and push further into unknown, beautiful, and truthful territory as a songwriter myself."

When asked to share a couple specifics about Alyson's contribution and the series as a whole, Brian Ball, Director of Music & Talent for WomensRadio offered the following account:

When deciding on the gifts to bestow upon our readers throughout the twelve day duration, we came up with the idea of working with some of our favorite artists of the year gone by; to bring their favorites to life in the form of a genre-specific top ten list.

There have already been and are still one or more FANTASTIC playlists coming up for our audience ... and offering the eleventh .Top 10' list, along with eleven pipers piping, we proudly present The Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 11 - SINGER-SONGWRITER - by NYC's Alyson Greenfield.

WomensRadio is a subsidiary of Women's Online Media and Education Network. .The Twelve Days of Christmas on WomensRadio.com' showcases a staff-selected group of independent female musicians and label owners' Top 10 favorite songs in their genre of choice.
