Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Arista Records) - Superstar country music duo Brooks & Dunn are giving their fans first-hand access to their latest tour and life on the road when they set out to clarify the meaning of their "Cowboy Town" motto during the exclusive Great American Country (GAC) special Brooks & Dunn: Cowboy Town (August 13, 9 pm ET). Yes, Cowboy Town is the title of their latest CD, but according to Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, it's a state of mind that involves multiple parts and pieces, including living life on the edge and to its fullest.

"Over the years we've done several TV specials, but never actually filmed parts of a 'real show'...and certainly never this raw, in terms of behind the scenes - I think fans will enjoy it," says Brooks.

Adds Dunn, "Kix and I respect the real estate we stand on every night. We don't take one inch for granted. We want people to know and see that. The producers, Robert Deaton and George Flanigen, filmed this in a way that is unorthodox to the country audience. We made sure that when you're watching - you feel transported. Like you were in the front row. I hope that some small piece of that is captured for the fans."

In documented candid interviews Brooks & Dunn agree, "you can be anywhere in the world and still be in Cowboy Town," and they start the special off with that in mind.

The show opens with Brooks & Dunn and their band on the back of a flatbed truck, riding through Waxahachie and Dallas, Texas, giving unsuspecting fans an impromptu, high-energy musical treat. The duo also drops a bombshell on another Dallas audience, stopping by for a late-night, surprise concert at Cowboy's Red River club.

Viewers witness final rehearsals for the 2008 Cowboy Town Tour and see the final result when the road trip wraps up in St. Louis, Mo, for a front-row seat to a Brooks & Dunn show that's like no other. Performance highlights from the show include an intimate performance of the duo's No 1 song, "Believe," accompanied by a gospel choir and set in a rural Tennessee church. The duo also performs "Brand New Man," "Hillbilly Deluxe," "Little Miss Honky Tonk," "Play Something Country," "Tequila," their current single, "Put a Girl In It," and more throughout the show.

"Brooks & Dunn have a historic place in country music and have attracted an international fan base throughout the years with their music and charitable acts," says Sarah Trahern, senior vice president of programming for GAC. "This non-traditional music special goes around the country to dig deep into the 'Cowboy Town' concept representing both a state of mind and a place of escape."
