NASHVILLE, TN (Carrie Underwood Official Website) - American Idol 4 winner Carrie Underwood will return to the 'American Idol' stage this Thursday, March 2 to perform her No 1 smash single 'Jesus, Take The Wheel' nine months after she was crowned the 2005 winner.

'I had hoped to be able to make it back to the show this year to spend some time with the contestants,' says Underwood, 'so I am thrilled to be asked to perform. It is a very intense time for the contestants and if there is any advice I can share to help them through, I am glad to do that. And how fun it will be to not be judged!'

On the March 2 'American Idol' results show four more contestants will be sent home, ending their quest for the American Idol title.
Underwood began working on her debut album Some Hearts as soon as 'American Idol' season four ended in May 2005 and to date, the CD has sold over 2 million copies since its November 2005 release.
