NASHVILLE, TN. (Webster PR) - The Charlie Daniels Band has just returned from a 16,000 mile run in Iraq! With the combined efforts of the Tennessee National Guard, United States Army-Europe, Central Command in Southwest Asia, and the nonprofit organization "Stars For Stripes," the Charlie Daniels Band performed in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq and Germany. The band traveled more than 16,000 miles and performed up to 3 shows per day for American troops deployed in the war on terrorism and Charlie Daniels returns with his story.

Charlie Daniels will appear this Sunday, May 29, 2005, on Fox Magazine. The special segment will feature Daniels' personal account of his recent visit to Baghdad where he performed in 9 separate shows for more than 15,000 soldiers. 'I wish that all Americans could spend just one day among the brave men and women who defend this country in Iraq and Afghanistan,' says Daniels.
'They live in constant danger…in dusty, desolate desert camps…they wear body armor in sweltering weather and they're all missing their loved ones. My trip only re-enforced what I already knew, our troops are the finest in the world. I can't even articulate my love and admiration for them but I can share my experience with the Americans who want to hear the story.'
Charlie Daniels shares his detailed narrative with FOX Magazine viewers this weekend. (FOX Magazine airs every Sunday night at 11 PM ET / 10 PM CT. For additional information on FOX Magazine, please visit www.foxnews.com/foxmagazine.)

The Charlie Daniels Band will also appear this Memorial Day Weekend as a special guest/host on Great American Country's Memorial Day Military Dedication Show (Saturday, May 28: 9:00am -10:00am / Sunday, May 29: 9:00am-10:00am / Monday, May 30: 9:00am-10:00am and again at 11:00PM)

'I continue to be in awe of our fellow Americans who freely sacrifice their lives for us. There is no way to repay them for their gift of life other than to show my support. So, this weekend, that's what I intend to do,' adds Daniels.

In addition to this weekend's television appearances, the Charlie Daniels Band is currently touring in support of his current album SONGS FROM THE LONGLEAF PINES (a Gospel Bluegrass Collection) featuring gospel favorites such as 'Walking In Jerusalem (Just Like John),' 'How Great Thou Art,' and the instrumental 'I'll Fly Away.'
