MIAMI, FL. (TVT Records) - Rising Hip-Hop starlet, Jacki-O (Poe Boy Entertainment/TVT Records) has been nominated in the "Best Female Hip Hop Artist" category for the 7th Annual BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards. She will be competing against Hip-Hop vixens: Remy Martin, Shawnna, and Miri Ben-Ari.
As a second time nominee (she was nominated last year in the same category), Jacki-O was elated when she received the news. BET has continued to recognize my contribution to Hip-Hop and I appreciate the nomination," she said.
The award show will be held in Los Angeles on June 28, 2004 at The Kodak Theatre. Husband and wife team Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will serve as hosts and there will be musical performances by The Game, Ludacris, Destiny Child and more.
About Jacki-O The Liberty City- native has ignited the charts with her breakout single, "Nookie" and the Timberland-produced follow-up, "Slow Down." Last year the Hip-Hop femme fatale signed an a long-term deal with TVT Records. The multi-talented emcee is in the studio working on her TVT sophmore album, The Angela Kohn Album tentatively scheduled for a 2006 release.
