LOS ANGELES (Treadstone Records) - In it's first week of release, Charmed: The Book Of Shadows soundtrack charted at No 20 on the Billboard Independent charts. The CD (released on Treadstone Records) is comprised exclusively of work by female artists and boasts a roster of songs by artists such as The Donnas, Dido, Missy Higgins, Shivaree, Zero 7, Sarah McLachlan, Butterfly Boucher and Ashlee Simpson amongst others.

The release of Charmed: The Book Of Shadows soundtrack coincides with the 2005 season of the WB Charmed television series. Also of note, recent episodes from the current television sweeps season have included four songs from the Charmed: The Book Of Shadows soundtrack.
States Jonathan Platt, President of Treadstone Records: "When we selected the songs for the new Charmed soundtrack we were adamant that each one reflect the core message of the show: the power of three strong, independent women. The soundtrack is kind of like a modern day Lilith Fair, it's a really engaging display of girl power, which is one of the ideals that has earned Charmed so many devoted fans, both male and female."
