BRENTWOOD, TN. (Sparrow Records) - Delirious, one of the leading Christian rock worship bands in the world, traveled to Marrakech, Morocco, in Africa earlier this month to perform at the landmark Friendship Fest, an event designed to promote peace through music among people of different faiths.

Held over three nights, the gathering drew an estimated 85,000 people from the Muslim region and was spawned by an invitation from Moroccan government officials to Harry Thomas, co-founder of the Creation Festivals in America.

Although religious tensions and some protests surrounded the event, all of the artists involved - who donated their time and efforts so the event could be free to the public - embraced the unique experience.

Delirious lead singer Martin Smith said, "We did what we normally do. If the music is good, people will respond to it. In our set, people were jumping up and down, faces were beaming."
