George Ducas has signed an exclusive recording deal with WhiteStar Nashville and a publishing agreement with WhiteStar Publishing. WhiteStar Entertainment Group is a vertically integrated entertainment venture spearheaded by President and CEO, JC Lestorti. WhiteStar Entertainment will provide a full service record label, publishing company, artist management and development as well as a live entertainment division. With the addition of George Ducas, the WhiteStar Nashville record label is on the forefront of the wave of in-house independent labels taking an intimate approach to artist career development.
Lestorti says: "The label all started due to my meeting George Ducas. We both had a common background through the legendary Jimmy Bowen and our relationship has progressed to where George is the flagship artist for the new record company. By the end of 2008, we will also be signing a duo, a female act and a group." Lestori continues, "I believe I have found the artists that will compliment George Ducas on the label and am currently in negotiations. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make the label succeed and also have plans for other business ventures in Nashville."
Despite all his other successful ventures, Lestorti's heart has always been with music and says: "It has always been my dream to start my own label in Nashville." With George Ducas' major credits as a songwriter, including hits for Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks, George Jones, Trisha Yearwood and a number one for Sara Evans to name a few, he could not be a better flagship artist for my new label."
More recently, Ducas penned the track "Always the Love Songs" on the Eli Young Band's album Jet Black And Jealous, released September 16th.
