LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Copper Official Website) - Rarely has a band come as far as Knoxville, Tennessee based Copper has in such a short time. Upon graduating from the University of Tennessee in 2004,the band hit the road and realized something special was happening. Copper has played almost 300 shows since then, headlining & supporting bands like Shinedown, Seether, 10 Years, Breaking Benjamin, Saliva, and 30 Seconds To Mars.
Now, Copper is back with a new album of their best material yet, Take My Chances (street date October 14). The band continues to fuse their own brand of hard-edged modern rock with hooks that should help the band cross genres on the charts. The first single, "Broken Sky," has already impacted Active and Alternative radio and is generating both Top 5 phones and call-out research with stations in each format.
Over the last few years, Copper has enjoyed significant radio airplay. The first single, "By Now," from their previous album, The Fragile Fall, went to Active and Modern Rock radio and charted immediately, entering the Top 50 within nine weeks. "Turn" was the second single, and was the number one requested song for seven weeks running at WNFZ/Knoxville, as well as Top 5 most requested in a number of cities including Chicago, Nashville, Norfolk, Madison, Syracuse and Lincoln, Nebraska. "Turn" also registered on Radio & Records Active "Most Added" chart for two straight weeks, and reached the Top 50 as well.
In 2005 Copper was selected from 3000 participants as the winner of J. D'Addario/Guitar.com/FUSE "We're Listening" contest. As a result Copper appeared on the FUSE Daily Download in March of 2006 and was the centerpiece of D'Addarios television and print campaign.
