Jack Ingram was in the middle of a photo shoot in New York City for his upcoming album, THIS IS IT (3/27) when he received an urgent phone call. Rascal Flatts' lead singer, Gary LaVox, had contracted an acute case of Bronchitis and was forced to cancel the band's show at Reliant Stadium in Houston... and they were asking Ingram to fill in.
Minutes later, Ingram was in one of NYC's infamous yellow cabs, racing to catch a private jet to get him to the Rodeo on time. Meanwhile, Jack's band and crew, also responded instantly. Split equally between Dallas and Austin, they all jumped into their vehicles and head for Houston immediately.
Once in Houston, Ingram was rushed from the airport, through the city, and into Reliant Stadium just moments before walking on stage to 70,000 screaming fans. Pinch-hitting that night alongside of Ingram were fellow artists Joe Nichols and Clay Walker.
Texas-based Ingram's first full length studio recording since 2002, THIS IS IT, will be released on March 27, 2007. The album's first single, Ingram's rendition of the rock smash "Lips of an Angel," is currently No 17 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart. The video for the song is currently No 1 on CMT: Country Music Television's 'Top 20 Countdown'. Ingram also appears in the current issue of Esquire Magazine as "Best Country Artist" in their Esky Awards
Ingram scored a No 1 hit last summer with "Wherever You Are," then a Top 10 hit with the tongue-in-cheek rocker, "Love You," both singles were from his Live Wherever You Are album which "offers no shortage of real-deal hooks and charisma" (Esquire Magazine).
After spending much of last year on the road (with headliners Sheryl Crow, Brooks & Dunn and Gary Allan, respectively) Ingram prepares to hit the road again in April with multi-platinum, CMA Award Winner Brad Paisely on the massive BONFIRES & AMPLIFIERS tour that will extend through the summer.
