BETHLEHEM, PA (Starcity Recording Company) - Nathan Lee Jackson, a young, aspiring country singer with a flair for songwriting, recently signed with StarCity Productions, led by music industry veteran Jeff Glixman and partner Jim Gentile. Jackson is currently working with Glixman on his first album for StarCity Productions at StarCity Recording Company, a state-of-the-art, world-class recording studio located in Bethlehem, PA.
When Jackson first performed for Glixman, StarCity's President, an immediate connection was made. 'I became very impressed with not only Nathan's talent, but also with the person inside,' comments Glixman. 'He is a wonderful person, incredible performer and a gifted songwriter. Nathan's capacity to compose a song on demand and across various genres has enabled him to compile a large catalog of material to choose from. In the studio, he exceeded my expectations in every way. He's truly an outstanding artist and individual.'
StarCity Productions is providing Jackson with the total recording experience, including studio time, musicians, and production, as well as access to a team of industry professionals and experts while still allowing him to retain creative control. 'Nathan's style is quite unique; whereas he cannot be classified entirely as Americana, he is also not the 'big-hat, hell-raising cowboy' stereotyped with country music,' Glixman continues. 'Reaching into my past experiences as a musician, I would rather see Nathan have creative balance and not feel pressured to chase after the current fad. This is a team effort with my co-producer Zak Rizvi and executive producer Jim Gentile, and our primary goal is to protect and enhance Nathan's musical instincts, allowing him to grow at his own pace without the confines of 'this week's' marketing trend. We are assembling an eclectic group of musicians to achieve the desired 'no boundaries' goal for this project. This is a lot of fun!'
Inspired by his grandmothers' love of music — he still recalls memories of singing hymns with her on the front porch — Jackson followed his passion and curiosities to his home church in Winchester, Kentucky for his first solo performance. By the age of 14 he began testing his songwriting skills, where he was quick to find his natural gift as a lyricist and ability to channel his emotions through words and notes — a gift recognized and encouraged by industry experts. To further pursue his dreams, he decided to move to Nashville, where he presently resides, to immerse himself in the area's famed music scene.
Jackson's current project with StarCity can be described as 'honest' country music with a solid rock foundation, blended with his own ingenuity and boundless emotion. It includes a riveting piece titled, Kentucky Breeze, where Jackson is accompanied by a 26-piece orchestra band. The album is scheduled for a 2006 Fall Release.
